Today marks the 90th birthday of seasoned Malayalam actor Madhavan Nair, commonly known as Madhu.
Celebrations on Madhu’s birthday will take place at Siva Bhavan at Kannammoola, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The actor’s birthday celebration has been well prepared for, according to rumors. For his performance in movies like Chemmeen, Bhargavi Nilayam, Karutha Rathrikal, Subaidha, and others, Madhu has won praise from the public.

On September 23, 1933, Madhavan Nair, also known as Madhu, was born in Gowreesapattom. He is the oldest child of Padmanabhapuram, Thuckalay native R. Parameswaran Pillai. Former Trivandrum Mayor R. Parameswaran Pillai and Madhu’s mother Thankamma were both housewives. Madhu was the only Malayali student admitted to the National School of Drama’s first class in 1958. Before beginning her career as an actress in Malayalam cinema in the 1960s, Madhu worked as an English college instructor.

Madhu had a difficult time securing his place in Malayalam film. He had to contend with fierce opposition from established heavyweights like Prem Nazir and Sathyan. As a result of her success, Madhu rose to the top of the Malayalam cinema industry’s actor rankings. In the movie Saat Hindustani, Madhu demonstrated his acting prowess outside of Malayalam cinema. In this film, which Khwaja Ahmad Abbas wrote and directed, he portrayed the part of Shabut Shanyal. Saat Hindustani had a poor box office performance.

Madhu said in an interview with the news website, “I’m 90 years old. The response to the question “how does it feel?” is “it feels a little bit better.” Even if my performing days are behind me, there is still work to be done. I’ll keep acting as long as there are decent scripts. The actor from Chemmeen was questioned about his celebration. Whoever comes to celebrate, I’ll be seated on this chair, he replies. I won’t disturb anybody, so they may rejoice.
