Eco-Warriors: How Amruta Fadnavis Inspired 2,500 Children to Teach Adults What’s Right

Amruta Fadnavis has once again proven herself to be a catalyst for positive change, orchestrating a powerful movement that not only promotes environmental sustainability but also empowers the younger generation to take the lead in shaping a greener future. This Ganesh Chaturthi, Fadnavis’s initiative reached a new pinnacle with the event “Bacche Bole Morya,” where 2,500 children were celebrated for their creation of eco-friendly Ganesha idols, underlining the importance of sustainable practices.

Held at the Dome SVP Stadium in Worli on August 28, the event was a vibrant testament to Fadnavis’s vision of an eco-conscious society. She successfully brought together some of India’s most influential figures—Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre, Sonu Nigam, and Kailash Kher—along with key officials like the BMC Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner, to not only laud the children’s efforts but to reinforce the message that true change starts with mindful, earth-friendly choices.

Salman Khan, a figure revered by millions, took the stage to passionately advocate for the use of natural, biodegradable materials in crafting Ganesha idols. “It is time we teach adults lessons in being earth-friendly. Let us use terracotta or other eco-friendly materials to create our Ganesha idol this year,” he declared, to the thunderous applause of the audience. His words echoed the very essence of Fadnavis’s movement—where the lessons of sustainability are not just preached but practiced, starting with the youngest members of society.

The evening was not just a celebration; it was a call to action. Renowned singers Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher lent their voices to the cause, their performances inspiring the children to continue their efforts in protecting the planet. The presence of dignitaries such as Bhushan Gagrani, Honourable BMC Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, Hon. Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, and several others further underscored the significance of the initiative.

Amruta Fadnavis, with her trademark blend of grace and determination, addressed the gathering with a message that resonated deeply: “By starting with our children, we have planted the seeds of awareness and responsibility that will grow into a deep-rooted respect for Mother Earth. It’s about teaching them that every small action counts, and that through mindful choices, we can protect our planet.”

But Fadnavis’s mission does not end with eco-friendly Ganesha idols. In conjunction with the #MiKachraKarnarNahi campaign, she has called upon the community to participate in a beach clean-up initiative at Versova Beach post-Ganpati Visarjan on September 18, 2024. This follow-up event further reinforces her commitment to ensuring that the lessons of sustainability taught to the children translate into tangible, impactful actions.

Amruta Fadnavis’s multifaceted approach to philanthropy, encompassing environmental consciousness, social responsibility, and cultural preservation, positions her as a beacon of positive change. Through her leadership, 2,500 children were not only empowered to create with purpose but were also emboldened to guide the adults in their lives toward what is right and necessary for the future of our planet. As this movement grows, it is clear that Fadnavis’s efforts have laid the foundation for a generation of eco-warriors who are ready to lead the charge in protecting and nurturing Mother Earth.
